Boone is 17 years old. He gets in a fight with his dad and runs away, taking his fathers favorite gun sure shot. After walking a few hours he meets a man named Jim Deakins who gives him ride. After a day with Jim he decides he wants him to come with him. Once they reached town Boone, being wanted, ran from the law losing Jim. He finds himself floating down a river then later camps out.
